"ease of doing business"

this morning newspaper finally gave away the secret how India jumped several ranks on "ease of doing business"!  i have always been suspicious of this 'ease of doing' as it sounds like a isabgol advertisement. why would 'doing business' needs to adopt bowel movement terms of reference beats me completely. 

so...the two parameters in which the government of India has jumped several numbers between last year to this year, and thereby become more 'ease of doing business', are "construction clearance" and "trade", no jobs or production capacity or productivity or million other things with which the commoners like us would think business grows, but, easing of regulation to trade more and to construct more...

basically this means clearing more forests, clearing more farm lands or hills or whatever comes in the way of constructing more - roads, bridges, dams, toll booths, buildings that no one uses, statues that serve some grand vanity, malls that enable consumerism... 

in this 'ease' exercise, that which is purged are farmers, forests, forest dwelling communities, animals, the villagers that are dependent on the forest to replenish their water, to refresh their air and to provide them with the necessary biomass for fuel and biodiversity for immunity building, and the knowledge of survival that goes will all of these...all of these are 'eased out' of our land to 'ease business'.
